Description: A nostalgic image of pre WWll row houses in the Soemon district.. According to Narazaki. 'paper lanterns hang low under the eaves, burning quietly at dusk, shadows of the lights cast by wickets upon the street makes the surrounding darkness more profound. The composition of the row of houses, the couple walking together, two komuro(attendants to a coutesan)and the shadow of the figure in the distance are exceptional'.
