Description: A charming folk scene within a traditional Japanese farmhouse. A mother and a daughter are sitting on straw mats warming themselves around an "irori" (open hearth).A large iron kettle is hung from the ceiling over the fire in the hearth. Some straw shoes and sandals are scattered in front of the living room. Prints in this series are in the collection of the Honolulu Museum of Art. Tokushi was well known in Japan for the charming depiction of his snowy home region in Akita prefecture. Works from the Series are rarely available.
