In the Midst of Glimmering Whiteness
Woodblock Print
13 x 8.5

Description: Based in a poem by the poet and historian Kinto, the mood of the print is one of scholarly restraint:He carries the blossoms formally on a fan to indicate respect. 'In the midst of glimmering whiteness among the night's moon shadows I part the snow and pick plum blossoms'. Blossoms and snow are considered to be at their most beautiful when viewed together under the soft light of the Moon.
