Description: An exterior view of a wood-latticed Namakokabe-style house typical of Matsuzaki,a town on the southwest coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. Hironaga began woodblock printing in 1970. His life's goal was to preserve graphically the historical houses of Japan. For several decades he traveled throughout the four islands of Japan sketching scenes of these houses, then selecting those from which his prints were made.
