Description: A woman, carrying a baby on her back stands quietly near the temple gate; the large temple and tall pine trees loom above her small presence; a single star appears in the night sky and some windows add additional focus of light. Hasui has created a quiet, softly illuminated night scene, a romantic mood that, yet, raises the question as to why this lone figure stands at this spot, at night.
