Description: This is a wonderful composition of subtle gradations of greys, as the eye is led along the snow covered path towards the range of distant hills. The composition is divided by foreground and background and in the middle ground, a tree, reminiscent of a human form, is a focus of attention; tiny figures making their way across the snowy field, appear protected by this upright form.
