Description: A lovely composition on blue, with white bands and little tree-like patterns; in the foreground. St. George, on his rearing horse, looks intently outwards as he plunges his spear into the snake-like dragon. His flowing hair, mantle, the horses tail and the writhing dragon, form a series of lovely, animated patterns. These are continued in the saddle, garment and horses's mane. This is an exceptionally beautiful rendering of the event, symbolizing Good overcoming Evil, so frequently portrayed in art.
