Description: Christ, the largest figure in the composition, accompanied by a disciple, stretches out a long finger, as if in instruction, over the bowed head of Saint Peter, who kneels, reverently holding the Key to the Church. The little bird, perched on a plant with heart-shaped leaves, peers down as a witness to the solemn event. Watanabe's gift of working with sparse means to describe an emotional moment, is here much in evidence.
