Morikazu Maeda

Biography:

Maeda was born in Shizuoka prefecture. He started off his career as an oil painter however, particularly inspired by the work of Gen Yamaguchi, he switched to woodblock printing. His compositional style uses patterns to create subtly surreal works, predominantly featuring landscapes. Maeda's work has been shown internationally and he is a member of and regular contributor to Nihon Hanga Kyokai Japanese Print Association.
